The look of things in Egypt is that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is on his way out.The day he was to mark a year in office, he was shocked to see hundreds of thousands of disgruntled Egyptians thronging Tahrir Square urging Morsi relinquish power. Major reason for wanting Morsi to hit the road is that he has failed miserably. His mojo no longer works for him. Morsi did not want to go down easily. He threatened to take all measures to see to it he survives. As the time went by, the game of numbers started to take shape in that it needed bigger numbers for either Morsi to stay or leave. As fate has it, the game of numbers seems to favour the opposition thanks to commanding bigger numbers than Morsi. Morsi's Party headquarters were ransacked and nobody was there to defend them.
Mathematicians started seeing the oust of Morsi as imminent and unavoidable. The army delivered another big blow when it issued the ultimatum of 48 hours for Morsi to put his house in order. Worse enough military choppers flew over Tahrir Square where anti-Morsi demonstrators have camped but not over Nasr City where pro-Morsi have congregated. To break his neck, the army issued an ambiguous message that sent mixed signals to both Morsi and the opposition. Whether Morsi will stay or go, it is not easy to tell. Again, is this dramatic move the beginning of the end for Morsi? Surely time will tell accurately and punctually.

Probably many Egyptians can't wait to see the back of him. The same can be said of our ruling class. Mind you, I used the term "ruling class" very generously. I probably should have said bloodsucking leeches!
Jaribu, to me the so-called ruling class is a crass bullying crap. I wish Morsi were Njaa Kaya who is now in a slumber suffering from Obamaworshipping. Did you see him dancing akikata mauno to please Obama? Miswahili kwa ngoma inatia kinyaa so to speak. I hate to see those traditional dancers acclaiming our guests at the Airport and the state house.
Me too. While everybody is forging ahead, we are stuck with grass skirts, loin cloth and other accoutrement of the Stone Age. Who told them foreign dignitaries enjoy that mess? You don't see the Dutch all decked out in wooden clogs or the Germans and Austrians in lederhosen every time somebody goes to visit them.
If they only knew that Obama is trying to run away from the spear chucking label back in the US, they would not be embarrassing him like this. Actually, he was more accommodating this time. I think last time he was somewhere in Africa he gave those traditional dancers a cursory look and moved away.
Jaribu, we need somebody brave who will stamp out ngoma from our psyche and mindset. It is sad that we have leaders who essentially are the product of sanaa like Kikwete, Yusuf Makamba and many more. We are doomed shall this wave of ngoma go on as it currently is. Anyways, our take is the good beginning. Soon, maybe other will join us in this crusade.
