Are Kenyans ready to pay the price?

Though democracy is something we like parrots like to sing about without knowing what it really means, chances are that Kenyans soon will know what it is. In the just concluded elections Kenyans defied all odds and  ushered in two ICC suspects, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, despite all calls from international community. Now that Kenyatta is president-elect who has nary received any congratulatory note from any head of state, is it starting to rain on Kenyans?  Why is the international community mean on sending some congratulatory notes? Does this mean that even its supports to Kenya is going to be mean? Are Kenyans ready to pay the price? Though it is their right to exercise their democratic right, the logic behind voting suspects accused of  heinous crimes is a bit wanting. Again, given that Kenyans have made their thorn bed, let them sleep in it. Will this be the beginning of the end of Kenyatta rule? Will  donor community make them think twice? For reference, this won't be the first time some bitter pills to be offered to democracy. In 2006 Palestinians  voted for Hamas little knowingly that this would cost them dearly. Let's wait and see.
